So it's my first post on this blog, I'm not a very good cook, well a terrible cook to be honest.
I've attempted to make brownies (ended up grilling the top, the middle was cooked, the bottom was just batter), attempted to make potato wedges (everything was fine but I used cinnamon instead of cajun spice so it then was not fine), and also given food poisoning in the past by cooking pizza.
I have however cooked some things which have turned out well, I can cook steak and Guinness/ale stew, chocolate cake (sometimes with guinness butter-cream), and cheese and egg flan.
So a bit more about me, I'm quite random, have spent some time living in Canada and got to eat poutine, a brilliant meal which sounds horrible at first, chips, gravy and cheese curd, but tastes so well together, it also goes well with pulled pork.
I'm also going to aim to get fit, so whilst learning how to cook I'll also be exercising, and the reason I want to do this is so I can take part on the London to Paris bike ride next year, will need to decide what charities I want to support whilst I'm doing this, that was I have extra motivation to make sure I do it.
So I'm going to attempt cooking cupcakes tomorrow, Oreo cupcakes and red velvet cupcakes, both sound good to cook and are a late birthday treat for my boyfriend who very bravely eats my cooking, but also tells me when it's terrible.
Anyways, that's it for now, not sure how often I shall update this but hopefully it will record my attempts at cooking (hoping it will be more successes than failures) and much more hopefully my success on getting fit and doing the London to Paris bike ride.... at least I have a bike now so I'm starting on it.
